Hot-off-the-presses details!

By order of the Public Health Office there is a vaccine requirement for attendance; please see the warden's note below for information.

Our (sold-out!) parish party will kick off at 5:30 with appetizers and dinner will be at 6 p.m.; you are invited to bring your own wine or spirits. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. It's a beach party theme, so we encourage you to get colourful and tropical! John Stowe will be working his magic with the BBQ and there will be red spring salmon, halibut, and cod (all boneless) on offer, as well as European franks. Grilled veggies and salads will round things out nicely! We are using paper plates to keep things as simple as possible; if you would prefer to bring your own, please do so.

This is the major fundraiser for our building revitalization projects, including the evolving plans for the north garden, and there will be a variety of ways to pledge or contribute. Please bring cash should you wish to enter the 50/50 draw; we will also be introducing a silent art auction that will run for the following few weeks.

And here's the important note from our wardens regarding necessary COVID protocols:

As a result of the most recent Provincial Health Order, we will be required to show proof of one vaccine for our Fundraising Dinner on Saturday September 18, 2021.

What does this mean for you and your friends who you have invited to attend?  Please contact your friends and let them know of this requirement in advance.

Please bring photo id for all those age 12 and older in your household/group etc. and proof of one vaccine in any of the following forms:

  • The wallet-sized immunization card given out at vaccine clinics
  • Printed immunization record from Health Gateway, or
  • The Vaccination Card which can be digital on your phone or printed out as per instructions located here:  https://www2.gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard.html

If you do not have any vaccines and are 12 years and older we ask that you kindly respect the Provincial Health Order and not attend.  We will look forward to seeing you at worship and other church-related activities where the Order does not apply.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Helen (helen@stclementschurch.ca) or Deborah (dtuyttens@gmail.com). Thank you for continuing to 'roll with the protocols.' Good news: our event is so popular, we are now sold out!

The back story:

Our building revitalization projects are at various stages as we continue to raise the cashola to support these important renovation and repair projects. (You can read all about them right here.)

We'll be having a Chef John Stowe BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, September 18, so come on out to eat, drink and be merry! Tickets are with our warden Deborah; please email her or see her on Sunday to get on the list. Tix are $25 for one person or $70 for a family.

Tropical or beach wear (in honour of the "sandblasting" of our building's exterior) is encouraged!
