In honour of Diana Geys and her legacy of making cards for people’s birthdays, we are bringing back an old St Clement’s tradition which is ice cream Sundays on the first Sunday of the month to celebrate birthdays and other important milestones. On this Sunday, our coffee and tea time will be simple- just ice cream in cones or cups, tea and coffee. It would be wonderful if youth and/or competent kids could help with serving it out, so please alert them to this if you happen to make it out on one of these Sundays. This past Sunday (September 7th) Sarah and Kassie Barnes did an amazing job- thank you young ladies!
I’m also thinking about introducing birthday calls or card making. If your kids like to call people on the phone, maybe they’d like to call someone from our church community to wish them a happy birthday on behalf of us. Or maybe they’d like to make a card and drop it off. Let me know if your kids or youth would be interested in participating in this.
