From Sally Hinnell, retreatant:

“Seeking the Larger Mind: Beloved-ness, Creativity and Awe” was the subject of the St Clement’s Retreat at Rivendell retreat centre on Bowen Island for five days last week.

We were 11 retreatants and two gifted leaders who spent the week on the top of a hill, largely in the mist, and we could have been anywhere. Textile artist Thomas Roach, who has designed and created vestments for our worship at St Clement's, led us on the creative journey as we explored the three parts of our theme, while Peter Elliott, retired Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, provided theological reflection on the themes and engaged in spiritual conversation with those who wished.

The warm, welcoming space that is Rivendell allowed for space and silence while we were accompanied by the warmth of community and shared delicious meals. Grateful thanks to those who provided tasty snacks for us. Each year the group has a different make-up, and all are welcome.
