Every year, we pause on the Sunday leading up to the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) to remember our own committments, especially as Anglicans, to truth and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples of Canada.

This year, we will hear from John Stowe and Conrad Callihoo, as they share with our priest during the sermon time about their experiences as Métis and Cree persons.

A prayer for truth and reconciliation:

Merciful God, you call us to loving relationship with one another.
Be with us now as we seek to heal old wounds and find joy again in this relationship.
Replace our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh.
Give us the gifts of honesty and openness, and fill us with your healing power and grace.
We ask this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
