What are you waiting for? Join St Clement’s this Advent season as we explore themes of waiting and expectation. In her book,  All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings, Gayle Boss describes the winter habitat of the painted turtle who, "is buried now in mud at the bottom of the pond. Encased in darkness, she is utterly still. She waits."

Every Thursday night in Advent from 7:30-8:15 pm, Helen will lead us on Zoom in an Advent meditation comparing the gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday to an animal reading from Gayle Boss' book. What do Mary and the black bear have in common? What if we imagined the chickadees that populate our trees this time of year taking up residence in the fig tree from Jesus' parable for the first Sunday of Advent?

Tune in Thursdays at 7:30 pm on Zoom from the comfort of your home:

Thursday November 25: The parable of the fig tree . . . and the chickadee?
Thursday December 2: John the Baptist and the queen honey bee
Thursday December 9: "You brood of vipers!" or, den of garter snakes?
Thursday December 16: Mary the black bear
