Pentecost is one of my favourite Sundays in the Church Year (Liturgical year), because it is the birth of the Church, the empowerment by the Spirit.  The gift of the Holy Spirit is the ongoing presence of the Risen Christ to the disciples, which inspires, equips and sends them out to continue Jesus' mission of love for the world.

All the images of Pentecost: colour, fire, wind, breath - speak of vibrancy and movement, energy and vigour.  Pentecost is a celebration of hope.
