Celebrate the beauty of autumn at a fun pre-Thanksgiving Weekend at Camp Artaban on Gambier Island! This October 4 to 6 getaway, sponsored by the Camp Artaban Board of Directors and Anglican Church Women, includes water taxi transport to and from camp and special seasonal features such as a pumpkin carving contest and a turkey dinner on Saturday evening. (Organizers are currently casting their net for a contest judge, who will play an important role indeed; winner of the "Best Pumpkin Award" will be granted their choice of merchandise at the freshly stocked camp canteen!)

People of all ages and stages are welcome, and there are special rates for families. People unable stay the whole weekend have the option of coming up for the day on Saturday, returning to town after the turkey dinner.

Over the course of the weekend there will be plenty of time for outdoor activities, boating, reading, games, helping out with camp projects, or just hanging out.

Morning worship gatherings led by the Rev. Peggy Trendell-Jensen, deacon at St. Clement’s, will encourage attendees to recognize humanity’s place within God's great, green Creation and to remain amazed by the wonders always around us.

The water taxi will leave Sunset Marina, just north of Horseshoe Bay, on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. and return to Sunset Marina at 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 6. Those campers coming as daytrippers will leave Sunset Marina at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, and return there at 8 p.m. that night.

Campership funding is available, so if the ticket price is a stretch for you, please let the Camp Artaban office know at 604-980-0391. You can find more information right here on the camp website.
