St. Clement’s choir is a small but enthusiastic group of singers who help lead our Sunday services. Our singers’ love for music and shared deep connection to the sacred creates a sense of unity and harmony within the group, and we enjoy this harmony each time we gather to prepare to worship. We also share sense of commitment, a love of music and thankfully, an appreciation for each other’s sense of humour -- we take our music very seriously but ourselves very lightly. Thus our time together on a Sunday morning is fun as well as preparation for worship.
Lynley Lewis, Music Director, has been conducting choirs of all ages and of all abilities in Canada, India and Kuwait for many years. He currently conducts several other choirs in the Lower Mainland, and greatly enjoys arranging multi-cultural music and composing sacred music. Lynley is a graduate of the UBC School of Music and sang with the University Singers for four years. He currently works as a Learning Support Teacher in the Burnaby School District.
If you’ve been told you sing fairly well and can carry a tune in the proverbial paper bag, come and try singing with us. Instrumentalists are welcome too. We rehearse every Sunday at 8:45 am just before the 9:30 service.
