Joint Lenten Morning Retreat
|
St. Clement and St. Clare-in-the-Cove offer Lenten Morning Retreat
A Lenten Morning Retreat titled From Ashes to Easter Fire on February 28 gave participants the opportunity to explore creatively some of the themes offered by the Lenten season. Ashes, penitence and the development of Lenten practices were three main streams of exploration. With the co-facilitators Rev. Lynne McNaughton and Rev. Carla McGhie the two parishes of St. Clement and St. Clare-in-the-Cove North Vancouver gathered at St Clement to prepare themselves for the Lenten season.
St. Clare and St. Clement previously worked together offering an Advent morning Retreat in 2008. Their joint work is ongoing as the two parishes are now engaged in a joint Lenten Study Series and have offered involvement to the other Anglican churches in the deanery . The retreats themselves are well supported reflecting an interest and eagerness for spiritual nurturing opportunities. This desire for spiritual growth opportunities has been named as one of the Diocesan Strategic Priorities. The parishes in the North Vancouver Deanery are presently engaged in working jointly on the Ministry Assessment Process (MAP). This process invites input from each parish and seeks to share our gifts on a wider basis. The practice of parishes working together is very reflective of what is happening and being encouraged in the deanery as a whole. It is exciting for participants to get to know each other in a new way and to see themselves as part of a larger faith community. | home |
