Parishes Share Advent Retreat
The neighboring parishes of St Clement and St. Clare-in-the-Cove, North Vancouver shared in an Advent Retreat on Saturday morning November 29, 2008. This was the first time the parishes had participated in a joint event. The attendees included a couple of members of North Vancouver's, St. John the Evangelist as well. The Retreat centered on the topic "The Holy Practice of Waiting" and was jointly facilitated by Rev. Lynne McNaughton and Rev. Carla McGhie. The participants engaged in the practices of Lectio Divina (the ancient method of prayerful reading of Scripture), walking the St Clare Labyrinth, artistic expression and silence to gain deeper spiritual insights into the various stages of transition and waiting. |
